Our Story
Development Works (DW) is a global development organisation that builds and energises expert networks to provide solutions to social challenges facing developing countries and international organizations. Based in Cairo, Egypt, Development Works was established in early 2008.
Its current Director is Ambassador Mr. Anis Salem, an expert in social development with 24 years of UNICEF experience in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, most recently as the organization's representative in Syria. During this assignment, he initiated a large- scale intervention in support of Iraqi refugees, led several innovations in the areas of early childhood, health, education and protection and helped convene several regional Ministerial and civil society conferences, leading to three Arab summit resolutions.
